What Is Affirming Therapy?

Whether you’re struggling with concerns directly related to your experience as a member of the LGBTQIA community or you’re dealing with difficult life transitions or overwhelming emotions, therapy can help. We specifically utilize the language affirming when we talk about working with LGBTQIA folx because there are still people out there who offer therapy aimed at conversion or suppression. Affirming therapy is simply therapy, but we want to make sure LGBTQIA folx know, before they ever reach out, that they are 100% welcome here.

Who Can Benefit from Affirming Therapy?

As affirming therapists, we make space for LGBTQIA folx to discuss instances of discrimination and bias they’ve experienced, explore questions about their gender identity or sexual orientations, and get to know themselves more deeply in order to live as their most authentic selves. Our skilled therapists are also able to offer counseling for people navigating a wide range of experiences from disordered emotions like depression or anxiety to healing from trauma, we are here to offer the support and resources you need.
